Initiative
2.2.2
Create a more welcoming and effective Bird Library entrance-the
first point of contact with Library users:
- remove turnstiles
and explore alternative security measures
- provide appropriate
staff training in customer service (See 4.2)
- document and train
staff in interpreting and applying Library entrance policies
and procedures
- design alternative
staffing plans to include staff from other departments (See
4.1.1)
- continue collaboration
between Circulation and Reference Departments to identify and
address information and referral issues
In addition to addressing
the strategic plan initiative listed above, the action team will
develop guidelines for dealing with unaffiliated users who monopolize
Library resources or pose a security threat.
